New footage of the cable car accident emerges

New footage captured seconds after the cable car accident in Antalya, which resulted in 1 death and 10 injuries, has emerged. The dust cloud rising from the mountain due to the toppled pylon and the screams were captured on mobile phone cameras.

New footage of the cable car accident emerges

In the cable car accident that occurred within the borders of the Konyaaltı district in central Antalya, operated by ANET A.Ş. of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, one person lost their life and 10 people were injured last Friday evening when one of the support pylons toppled and struck a cabin.

Following the accident, in which 174 people were stranded in 25 cabins, a crisis desk was established by the Antalya Governor's Office and rescue operations were launched. The 174 victims stranded in the cabins were rescued after approximately 23 hours of effort. In the investigation launched after the accident, 12 suspects were detained and referred to the courthouse on grounds of negligence.

Three days after the accident, footage from immediately after the incident has also emerged. In the footage shot by a citizen at the foothills of Tünektepe, the dust cloud that rose immediately after the pylon toppled was recorded. As the dust cloud rose, the cable car system became inoperable and the cabins remained stationary.
