Former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş lost his life as a result of an armed attack he was subjected to in the Çukurambar neighborhood of Ankara's Çankaya district on December 30, 2022.
The trial of the 12 defendants currently in custody regarding the murder of Ateş will continue on September 30 at the Sincan Prison Campus by the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court.
While the hearing is expected to last throughout the week, it was stated that at this stage, the defendants' defense statements on the merits will be heard.
In the last hearing held in July, defendants Mehmet Yüce, Erdem Karadeniz, Osman Bayraktar, Zekeriya Asarkaya, Hakan Saraç, Ufuk Köktürk, Aytaç Ataç, Caner Günay, Umut Ersoy, and Alper Atay were released.
