New indictment against 12 people in Narin Güran murder case
A new indictment has been prepared against 12 more suspects in connection with the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was killed in Diyarbakır. In the investigation, Narin's aunt Hediye Güran, who was detained for "intentional murder," and Ramazan Atasoy, a worker for the detained uncle Salim Güran, were released due to insufficient evidence.
In the case regarding the murder of Narin, whose body was found in a sack in a stream bed on the 19th day of search efforts after she went missing on August 21 in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, covered with three stones weighing 30, 25, and 20 kilograms and hidden by bushes, a verdict had been reached in the trial where 4 detained defendants were being tried with a request for aggravated life imprisonment; mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and uncle Salim Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional killing of a child in complicity."
Nevzat Bahtiyar was acquitted of the charge of "intentional killing of a child in complicity," but was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for "destroying, concealing, or altering criminal evidence," and it was decided that his detention would continue.
UP TO 5 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED
New developments have occurred regarding the Narin Güran murder case.
An indictment has been prepared against 12 more suspects. In the indictment prepared on the charge of "aiding and abetting a criminal," a prison sentence of up to 5 years is requested for the suspects.
On the other hand, it was alleged that 3 of the suspects are children.
