New post from Akşener: Silence on İmamoğlu continues
Meral Akşener, the founding leader of the IYI Party, who celebrated the Night of Power (Kadir Gecesi) last night, continues to remain silent regarding the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Meral Akşener, who visited the Presidential Palace to meet with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan some time after stepping down as IYI Party leader, has drawn attention for her long absence from social media.
Meral Akşener, who had attended the Saraçhane Rally following the prison sentence handed down to Ekrem İmamoğlu in 2022 and referred to him as her "son," has not uttered a single word during the process of İmamoğlu's detention and arrest.
Akşener's silence regarding İmamoğlu has sparked reactions.
Akşener, who has been appearing and disappearing from the political arena since stepping back, made a post on her social media account regarding the Night of Power.
Posting on her X account, Akşener celebrated the Night of Power for citizens.
In her post, Akşener stated the following:
"I pray to Almighty Allah that this blessed #NightOfPower, which is better than a thousand months and where the doors of mercy and abundance are opened wide,
Brings peace and happiness to our country,
And that the prayers from the hearts of every member of our nation are accepted."
