Journalist Murat Ağırel was released under judicial control after being detained on allegations of "threats" and "blackmail." Following his release, Ağırel stated, "We will continue to practice journalism."
Journalists Murat Ağırel and Timur Soykan, who were detained yesterday morning as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in the evening, had been sent to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest.
Following the hearing, journalists Murat Ağırel and Timur Soykan were released under judicial control. After his release, journalist Ağırel shared a post on his social media account.
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRACTICE JOURNALISM"
'Onlar TV', referring to the program they host on the YouTube channel with journalists Şule Aydın, Barış Pehlivan, Timur Soykan, and Barış Terkoğlu, Murat Ağırel used the following expressions:
"We will continue to practice journalism, to be the stone under your feet, the eyebrow above your eye, the head you cannot bow. We thank everyone who provided support."
