New post from Oytun Erbaş following his minimum wage comments

Millions of citizens in Turkey are trying to make a living on the minimum wage. Citizens, who had their eyes set on the minimum wage hike, were disappointed by the 30 percent increase.

While citizens are struggling with economic problems and the announced 30 percent raise has become the focus of reactions, a remarkable statement had come from Prof. Dr. Oytun Erbaş.

Prof. Dr. Oytun Erbaş's comment on the minimum wage, where he said, "Dried beans are also protein, meat is also protein. We need to learn humility. If the minimum wage were 50, people would spend 50," had become a trending topic on social media.

An apology statement has come from Prof. Dr. Erbaş.

"I APOLOGIZE TO THE TURKISH PEOPLE"

In the statement he published on his social media account, Erbaş used the following expressions:

"APOLOGY STATEMENT TO THE PUBLIC

I, Dr. Oytun Erbaş, made the unfortunate statements on the program titled TV100-Buket Aydın Soruyor with complete sincerity. There was no ill intent involved. Since I personally lead a modest life, I offered advice to our Turkish people. I apologize with all my heart to the Turkish people for the confusion I caused in the public eye, the discomfort I caused, and the misunderstanding. Respectfully,"
