New 'price list' regulation for restaurants, cafes, and patisseries
According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, starting January 1st, it will be mandatory for restaurants, cafes, and patisseries to display price lists at their entrances and on tables.
The Ministry of Trade has introduced a new price list regulation. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, businesses will be required to display price lists at their premises, depending on the nature of the service and how it is presented to the consumer.
Establishments providing food and beverage services, such as diners, restaurants, cafes, and similar venues, will be required to place price lists at their entrances and on tables.
The implementation will begin on January 1, 2024.
The decision included the following statements:
"From the Ministry of Trade:
REGULATION ON AMENDMENTS TO THE
PRICE TAG REGULATION
ARTICLE 1- The first paragraph of Article 8 of the Price Tag Regulation, published in the Official Gazette dated 28/6/2014 and numbered 29044, has been amended as follows.
"(1) Depending on the nature of the services and the manner in which they are offered to the consumer, documents, signs, boards, and similar items regarding tariffs and price lists shall be hung, attached, or placed in the workplace where the service is provided, and in the case of eateries, restaurants, cafes, patisseries, and similar establishments providing food and beverage services, they shall be placed in front of the entrance door of the establishment and on the tables where service is provided, in a manner that is easily visible and readable by consumers."
ARTICLE 2- This Regulation shall enter into force on 1/1/2024.
ARTICLE 3- The Minister of Trade shall execute the provisions of this Regulation."
