New regulation at airports: Passengers who refuse to be searched will not be allowed on the plane

With the proposal on the Parliament's agenda, security practices at airport entrances will be reorganized. Passengers who do not accept being searched will not be allowed on the plane.

All passengers will be searched with devices. In cases where device searches are insufficient, manual searches will be conducted.

During this process, items deemed suspicious may be opened, and prohibited items may be taken into 'custody'.

Passengers who do not accept a manual search of themselves or their belongings will not be accepted onto the plane.

Security measures at airport entrances may also be carried out by private security personnel under police supervision.

Private security personnel will be able to search individuals' persons, belongings, luggage, and cargo with technical devices and, when necessary, by hand, under police supervision.

Severe sanctions will be applied if authorities are not notified of crimes committed on board an aircraft.

FINES UP TO 500 THOUSAND LIRA

In cases of crimes committed on board an aircraft, if the pilot fails to inform the authorized authorities, a fine ranging from 20 thousand to 500 thousand lira will be imposed.

Individuals who fly UAVs-drones without flight permission or outside the areas designated by civil aviation or administrative authorities, and who are identified by security forces, will pay a fine of 60 thousand lira.
