New regulation for barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons takes effect today
The Ministry of Trade has issued a statement regarding the new regulation on the operating hours of barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons. The statement noted, "In line with this, the practice of barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons being closed one day a week nationwide will take effect as of July 1, 2024."

Within the scope of the decision announced by the Ministry on social media, it was announced that the practice of barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons being closed one day a week nationwide has taken effect as of today.
It was stated that administrative sanctions will be imposed by the Ministry of Trade on businesses that do not comply with the decision.
Regarding the matter, the following statements were included in the announcement made by the Ministry of Trade:
"The requests and suggestions submitted to our Ministry of Trade by industry stakeholders, who represent the vast majority of barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salon operators, were meticulously evaluated, and a decision was made by our Ministry of Trade on August 18, 2022, for all barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons across the country to be closed one day a week."
In the ongoing process, efforts involving broad participation from the sector have been carried out to ensure that the day of closure can be determined by the Governorates, taking into account the sectoral structure, business profiles, and consumer preferences and needs of each province, and these efforts have now been completed.
In this regard, the practice of barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons being closed one day a week nationwide will take effect as of July 1, 2024, and if it is determined that these businesses are not closed on the days designated by the Governorates, administrative sanctions will be imposed by our Ministry of Trade."
