New regulation on traffic offenses: Driver's licenses will be confiscated!

AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made notable statements at the Judicial Reform Strategy Promotion Meeting held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center.

Stating, "We will take more deterrent measures against crimes committed in traffic and behaviors that endanger traffic safety," Erdoğan said, "Independent sanctions will be introduced, including the confiscation of driver's licenses for drivers who exit their vehicles with the intent to attack. Furthermore, we are significantly increasing penalties for firing weapons at public events such as engagements, weddings, and military send-offs."

"I once again wish God's mercy upon our 78 citizens who lost their lives in the fire that occurred in Bolu Kartalkaya, and I extend my condolences to their grieving families. I wish a speedy recovery to our 10 brothers and sisters whose treatment continues among the 51 citizens injured in the same fire.

Protecting the reputation of the judicial authorities that make decisions in the name of the Turkish nation and not shaking the society's trust in justice is of great importance to us. Since we took office, we have paid attention to this issue and taken many important steps. We are the heirs of a tradition that accepts justice as the foundation of the state."

'NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW'

Those who see themselves as privileged before the law should know that no one is above the law. The periods when some individuals were privileged before the law are behind us. Everyone who commits a crime, whoever they may be, must account for their actions before independent Turkish courts.

THOSE WHO DO THIS WILL HAVE THEIR LICENSES CONFISCATED

Special sanctions will be implemented for drivers who exit their vehicles with the intent to attack, including the confiscation of their driver's licenses. Penalties will be significantly increased for firing weapons at public events such as engagements, weddings, and military send-offs. The effectiveness of the conciliation institution will be increased, and the criminal record system will be reorganized in line with the right to not be stigmatized. Existing mechanisms will be strengthened to ensure the protection of children in judicial processes. In addition, the management capacity of the penal execution and probation system will be further developed.
