New regulations on the way for hobby gardens and traffic fines: Insider information from Tayyar

Sharing insider information on his social media account regarding updates to the implementation of demolishing hobby gardens—which paves the way for the destruction of almost all structures in rural areas—and the traffic fines that have increased to a level that victimizes drivers, AKP member Tayyar stated that there could be changes to these penalties and practices that have caused intense public reaction.

Here are those statements from Şamil Tayyar:

"Late at night.

Let me give you two important pieces of news.

We have had two important topics of discussion for a while:

1/ Whether small-scale, non-zoned garden houses, known in the public as hobby gardens and closely concerning around 7 million people, will be demolished.

2/ The heavy penalties and practices introduced with the new Traffic Law.

I have heard that our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has addressed both issues and requested that new regulations be made.

Let me start with the first one.

The issue of hobby gardens was brought to the agenda by Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek at the AK Party's MKYK meeting today.

Gökçek stated that if the current regulation is implemented, thousands of people will be victimized, and that a heavy political price will be paid.

The Minister of Agriculture also provided information about the regulation.

Upon this, our President requested that Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Environment Murat Kurum, Minister of Agriculture İbrahim Yumaklı, and AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler come together to make new preparations.

As for the second issue.

The subject was discussed at the MYK meeting, and public reactions were evaluated.

Our President subsequently requested that the Ministry of Interior carry out a new study.

He did the right thing.

Great minds think alike."
