The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs met under the chairmanship of AKP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Vahit Kirişci. The agenda of the meeting was to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Ağrı Deputy Ruken Kilerci, who served as the committee's clerk member.
The new parliamentary role of Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who resigned after being elected from the Republican People's Party (CHP) lists and joined the ranks of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) following a period as an independent deputy, has been clarified.
Çakır was elected to the vacant position in the Bureau of the TBMM Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs.
Committee Chairman Kirişci stated that an election had to be held in accordance with Article 24 of the Parliament's Rules of Procedure. During the meeting, Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır was nominated as the sole candidate by the AKP Group. As a result of the secret ballot, Çakır, having received the votes of the majority of the committee members, was appointed as the Clerk Member of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs.
