New statement from MHP regarding posts about Devlet Bahçeli! 'FETÖ-linked accounts...'
MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir, who made another statement regarding the reports circulating on social media that 'Devlet Bahçeli has died,' drew attention to FETÖ and provided the information that "7 prominent account managers have been identified and necessary proceedings against them are ongoing."
Last night (September 12), posts were made on social media claiming that Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had passed away.
MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir, who made a statement on the matter, had expressed the following:
"Efforts related to the disinformation campaign targeting our Chairman and conducted via social media have been identified by our party, and the necessary information (the social media accounts producing and spreading the disinformation) has been shared with the Ministry of Interior. Our Police Department has initiated investigations into the matter without delay."
NEW STATEMENT FROM MHP
Özdemir made another new statement regarding the issue.
Drawing attention to FETÖ, Özdemir stated that it is assessed that the disinformation content circulated on some social media platforms regarding his party's Chairman, Devlet Bahçeli, was intended to be spread by X accounts affiliated with FETÖ.
In a statement on his social media account, Özdemir noted that as a result of comprehensive work and analysis by the General Directorate of Security's Cybercrime Combat Department, it was determined that out of the 3,776 accounts involved in the disinformation regarding Bahçeli, 1,179 were bot accounts managed by computers, and 2,597 were named accounts.
7 ACCOUNT MANAGERS IDENTIFIED
MHP's Özdemir noted the following in his statement:
"Furthermore, it has been determined that the owners of prominent accounts operating within the same scope have previously been processed in analysis and archive records for crimes such as inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting, defamation, threats, threats to create fear and panic among the public, establishing, managing, or being a member of an armed terrorist organization, and insulting the President. Additionally, it has been observed that the aforementioned disinformation content was circulated through some social media platforms, and it has also been assessed that it was intended to be spread by Twitter (X) accounts affiliated with FETÖ."
Stating that it is understood that posts on the subject were made by accounts linked to FETÖ, Özdemir provided the information that "Work on the matter is ongoing, and 7 prominent account managers have been identified and necessary proceedings against them are ongoing."
