New statement from MHP's Yalçın with days left until the Sinan Ateş trial

The trial concerning the death of former Idealist Hearths President Sinan Ateş, who was killed in an assassination in Ankara, will be held in Sincan on July 1. A statement has come from MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın ahead of the trial.

The verbal altercation between the CHP and the MHP had left its mark on the past few weeks.

Following CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's statement, "There is no difference between MHP Deputy Chairmen Semih Yalçın and İzzet Ulvi Yönter. They are the ones most afraid of normalization. Because in a normalizing Turkey, no one would leave the funeral of an Idealist Hearths President unattended in the heart of the capital," harsh responses came from MHP's İzzet Ulvi Yönter and Semih Yalçın.

A new statement has come from Yalçın following the debates that focused particularly on the Sinan Ateş murder and "normalization." Making a long statement before the trial, Yalçın also implicitly touched upon Sinan Ateş in his writing.

The relevant part of Yalçın's statement is as follows:

"The establishment of the Idealist Hearths has been so accurate that the patriotic Turkish youth gathered under this roof have managed to effectively neutralize harmful and separatist movements by showing tremendous courage and heroism against them. By forming a tremendously determined, effective, and deterrent wall of youth, they have specifically set a barrier against communism. The Idealist Hearths are a manifestation of the Turkish nation's determination for survival and will for integrity in the face of local and regional threats.

Although the Idealist Hearths are tried to be smeared by leftist writers and the media with labels such as marginal, far-right, racist, and paramilitary organization, they possess the exact opposite qualities. 

The Idealist Hearths have maintained the identity of a non-governmental organization that directly represents the conscience of the nation and defends our national survival. The Idealist Hearths are being targeted, sometimes by using murders as an excuse, sometimes by citing the actions of certain circles that resort to mafia-type methods, and sometimes by using political events as a pretext.

The Idealist Hearths, where pure-hearted youth perform their duties, are being tried to be stained and dirtied. No malicious attack, no baseless accusation or imputation will be able to harm the honor of the Idealist Hearths. The Idealist Hearths, exempt from all accusations, imputations, and allegations, will continue to fulfill the duty history has imposed upon them."
