New statement from Minister Fidan on KAAN, which remains on the agenda: 'They are sowing discord'

Minister Fidan stated that disinformation has become a part of political struggles in Turkey, saying, "Now, why is disinformation carried out? This is a matter already included in basic propaganda textbooks. In fact, disinformation, manipulation, black propaganda, and especially the issue of sowing discord as a leg of the political struggle in Turkey are all issues that have always existed."

"NATIONAL SECURITY IS ABOVE ARTIFICIAL DEBATES"

Speaking to TRTHaber, Fidan emphasized that they would not allow such debates to overshadow Turkey's national security, stating, "The issue of Turkey's national security is a matter far above such artificial debates. If we get stuck on such black propaganda, we will deviate from the main focus."

"DOMESTICATION RATE HAS REACHED 80 PERCENT"

Touching upon the importance of the progress achieved in the defense industry in recent years, Fidan said, "Thousands of engineers have been showing great sacrifice for years in the process of indigenization and nationalization. There is incredible labor at Aselsan, TAI, Roketsan, Baykar, BMC, and many other companies. Look, the domestic production rate has increased from 20 percent to 80 percent. This is not a success to be underestimated."

Reminding that national products are used effectively in the field, Minister Fidan said, "We did not just produce these products; we also used them in the field. We personally tested UAVs, armed UAVs, ammunition, and electronic warfare systems in operations. Thanks to this, we both gained experience and ensured development by sharing data with our engineers."

"WE HAVE LIFTED RESTRICTIONS WITH MANY COUNTRIES"

Stating that they are also trying to overcome open and covert sanctions against Turkey in the defense field through diplomacy, Fidan said, "We have lifted restrictions with many countries from Canada to the Netherlands, from Norway to Belgium. Issues in Germany have been largely resolved; some of those in America have been lifted, while some remain. This is my duty; I am obligated to lift these sanctions."

"THESE ARE HIGH STATE MATTERS"

Stating that they are determined to protect Turkey's interests, Fidan concluded his speech with the words, "While I am trying to lift this, if the other party cannot provide me with a reasonable explanation, my national security requires me to obtain it from elsewhere. And the interlocutor needs to know this. Look, I want to buy from you, but if you do not provide it, I will have other alternatives. These are high state matters."
