New statement from Minister Tunç on 'Eros' case: 'Ultimately, it is a prison sentence'

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç spoke about the case of the cat "Eros," who was killed by İbrahim Keloğlan at the Book, Coffee, and Youth Office within the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports on Gazi Street in Giresun.

Minister Tunç stated, "Ultimately, a prison sentence was given; the individual may appeal this, but the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office may also appeal. The public is not satisfied with the amount of the sentence here."

In response to a young person's question regarding the case of the killing of the cat "Eros" in Istanbul's Başakşehir district, Tunç said that the case had been heard previously and that the defendant, who received a 1-year and 3-month prison sentence, was released after being detained for 1 month.
