New statement from TÜVTÜRK regarding the incident where a police officer was beaten to death
TÜVTÜRK has issued a new public statement regarding the incident at a vehicle inspection station in Ankara, where police officer Melih Okan Keskin was beaten to death. The institution announced that, in addition to the individual who carried out the attack, other employees identified as being involved in the incident have also been dismissed.
Following the fight at a vehicle inspection station in Ankara that resulted in the death of police officer Melih Okan Keskin, a new statement has been released by TÜVTÜRK. In the information provided by the institution, it was stated that the incident, which occurred on February 2 at the Ankara İvedik Vehicle Inspection Station and resulted in the passing of Keskin, was met with deep sorrow.
The statement emphasized that a comprehensive and meticulous investigation is being conducted to clarify all aspects of the incident. Noting that a zero-tolerance approach to violence is adopted, it was recorded that the employment contract of the employee identified as having carried out the attack on the police officer had been previously terminated.
The statement included the following expressions:
"In line with the new findings that emerged during the judicial process that began after the incident, the employment contracts of other employees identified as being involved in this tragic event have also been terminated, in addition to the new decisions we have taken. The internal investigation is also ongoing. At this point, we would like it to be known that we have adopted as a fundamental principle to support the continuation of the process within the framework of responsibility principles, and its conduct with the principles of transparency and the rule of law.
All kinds of information and documents have been submitted to the investigative authorities. We declare that we will provide any support requested from us regarding the incident that has been referred to the judiciary, and that we are awaiting the decisions to be made by official authorities. On this occasion, we once again remember our late police officer with mercy and extend our condolences to his grieving family."
