New statement from Yılmaz Tunç regarding the hotel fire in Bolu: 'No matter who it touches...'

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made statements regarding the hotel fire that occurred in Bolu Kartalkaya, which resulted in the tragic deaths of 78 people, during his speech at the AKP 8th Ordinary Congress held in Çorum.

Stating that the investigation will continue meticulously, Tunç said, "We are holding a congress here today. The reason we began with prayers and the recitation of the Holy Quran for our brothers and sisters who lost their lives is the painful incident that took place in Bolu Kartalkaya. The hotel fire that occurred there caused deep sorrow for 78 of our citizens. May the Almighty not let us or our country experience such pain again."

HE AGAIN CALLED THE REPORT SHARED BY ÖZEL A 'PIRATE' REPORT

Expressing that a comprehensive investigation process is being carried out following the fire, Tunç noted the following:

Calling the preliminary expert report shared with the public by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel a 'pirate' report, Tunç continued his speech as follows:

"A judicial process is being conducted regarding those who caused this fire and those who have negligence. An expert committee consisting of scientists and professors from Istanbul Technical University has begun its examinations in the region. Detailed work, which has been ongoing since yesterday, continues to determine the cause of the fire and those responsible. The investigation is being deepened through camera footage and documents and findings. An academic team, including professors from the disaster units of Istanbul Technical University, particularly from the faculties of Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Electrical-Electronics Engineering, will examine the matter in detail. Some people have emerged who are uncomfortable with the expansion of the investigation. Unfortunately, they brought a document, which is claimed to be a report, to the agenda with a pirate text. They used this text, which was not submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, to occupy the public agenda. This behavior is a great disrespect to the families of our 78 citizens."

"WHY IS THERE DISCOMFORT WITH THE DEEPENING OF THE INVESTIGATION?"

Stating that scientific and judicial work will continue, Tunç asked, "Why are you uncomfortable with the deepening of the investigation? Who is uncomfortable and why with the work being done by academics and scientists to find the cause of the fire and the responsible and negligent parties who led to this cause?"

Tunç noted the following:

"Our scientists are continuing their work in accordance with the legislation, down to the finest detail, to identify those responsible. In this context, whoever has negligence or fault will be revealed as a result of scientific research and judicial investigation, and those responsible will be brought before the judiciary. Let no one have any doubt about this. Those who caused this pain for our nation will be held accountable before the independent Turkish judiciary. No matter where it leads, we will follow this process to the end. Our President also constantly expresses his determination on this matter."
