New statement from Yusuf Tekin regarding school attacks: I wish patience for every member of our education family

Just hours after the school attack in Şanlıurfa, a similar attack occurred this time in Kahramanmaraş.

While AKP figures, in particular, chose to blame video games and social media platforms following the attack that claimed 9 lives, many educators are pointing out that Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin needs to take responsibility.

Following these developments and the reactions given, Minister of National Education Tekin made a new statement and used the following expressions:

"The heartbreaking and tragic incidents in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş have deeply shaken our entire country.

It is with great sadness that I must state that we have lost our hopeful youth and an educator dedicated to their duty with all their sacred values in these tragic events. As a nation, we are in indescribable grief.

To ensure that similar incidents do not occur in our educational institutions, which have been the finest examples of our climate of social peace throughout our ancient civilization, we are taking the necessary steps with determination to update our existing security measures and implement a holistic security approach that covers all digital and physical threats, in coordination with our Ministries of Interior, Justice, and Family and Social Services.

In such a period when we are united as a nation with the deepest feelings, this pain we shoulder has fallen into all of our hearts. Indeed, this process will be followed down to the finest detail, and every necessary step will be taken with care and attention for the peace of our children, the well-being of our teachers, and the tranquility of our educational environments.

Let our nation never doubt that no aspect of this shared pain will be left in the dark.

I pray for God's mercy upon our teachers and students who lost their lives, and I wish patience for their grieving families and every member of our education family; I wish a speedy recovery to our wounded.
