Interesting details have emerged regarding the illicit affair between an imam and a female petty officer in Van. According to allegations, Gendarmerie Petty Officer Gül Kılıç, who served at the Van-Gevaş District Gendarmerie Command, began a relationship with Imam İkram Sorğuç, who lived in the central district of Bitlis, after divorcing her husband.

Imam Sorğuç wanted to have sexual relations with Petty Officer Kılıç. The female petty officer asked the imam for money in exchange for the encounter. The imam accepted this request. However, despite the sexual encounter taking place, Imam Sorğuç did not make any payment to the woman. Following this incident, the woman planned to extort and assault Sorğuç by 'hiring' the gendarmerie specialist sergeants under her command. On the night of Wednesday, August 28, Sorğuç's path on the Van-Erciş highway was blocked by Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Orhan Ersoy, Gendarmerie Specialist Corporal Ömer Keleşoğlu, and a civilian named Taner Şirp. The imam was assaulted there, and 58,838 TL in his account was extorted by being transferred to another account via IBAN. An investigation was launched upon the imam's complaint. Gül Kılıç and the 2 gendarmerie personnel were detained, arrested, and sent to prison.

However, another interesting dimension of the incident has emerged: the background of the detained civilian, Taner Şirp. Taner Şirp is the person who picked up Gül Kılıç from the scene on the day of the incident. Taner Şirp is a person who served a long time in prison for being a PKK executive. He was also a member of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP). It was stated in the testimonies that Gül Kılıç, who was said to have a relationship with the imam, also had a relationship with Taner Şirp. In his statement, Taner Şirp said, "I did not see any panic in Gül on the phone. She did not send any messages after sending the location. She sent me the location around 00:00. I was there in about 20 minutes. When I returned, I saw Petty Officer Gül. She got into my vehicle. When my vehicle arrived, she had 2 military personnel friends with her. When I first saw Gül, she was on the road. I did not see any problematic situation with Gül. Gül was wearing civilian clothes. I did not see a third person with Gül. It was a single car. I don't know the model of the car, but I remember it was white. When we went to the gas station, Gül bought water. Then the other 2 people came. We greeted them. We parted ways with Gül. I didn't ask Gül anything, thinking it was duty-related. We had a romantic relationship with Gül. Our relationship with Gül started right after she got divorced. I am married. That's why we meet in secret from everyone." On the other hand, it was alleged that the money sent from Imam İkram Sorğuç's account was transferred to a person in Iran.

TANER ŞİRP'S MONTHLY INCOME IS 1.5 MILLION LIRA

Stating that he works in the tourism business, Taner Şirp said in his statement that his monthly income is 1.5 million lira. Stating that he gave loan money to Gül Kılıç, Taner Şirp spoke as follows in his statement:

"I have known Petty Officer Gül for 2-2.5 years. I work in the tourism business. I met Petty Officer Gül during road checks. I met her husband once. I met her after she got divorced. After that, I never met her husband. From time to time, Gül would send me her location. I would go to pick her up from where she was. I did not have any money transactions regarding Gül's husband. I neither gave a loan to Gül's husband nor received one. She would say 'pick me up from Gürpınar' or 'pick me up from Edremit', and I would go and pick her up from time to time. Petty Officer Gül and I had mutual money transactions. I sent 100,000 TL to Gül's account from my own account via the bank. If the bank were open, I could have presented the receipts. It has been about 1 year since the 100,000 TL transfer. Gül owes me 100,000 TL, but I did not take it because of her grievances. Gül was constantly telling me that she was in a difficult financial situation. I was providing her with financial support to cover her rent. We meet with Gül frequently. We meet every week or ten days. I was providing her with financial support because she is my friend. There was a debt situation due to her husband. For this reason, she was in a bad financial situation. If she couldn't cover her rent once a month, she would take it from me and pay it. I would give her 10,000-15,000 TL."

ŞİRP, WHO SAID HE WAS LOVERS WITH THE PETTY OFFICER, SERVED TIME FOR KCK

Taner Şirp was arrested in 2010 during KCK operations. A hunger strike had begun among those arrested in 2012. One of those who participated in this hunger strike was Taner Şirp. Taner Şirp, who also served as a Party Assembly member in the Democratic Regions Party for a period, was released in 2015. Taner Şirp, who was arrested again 6 months later, remained in prison for some time longer.
