As part of New Year's security measures in Istanbul, 86 thousand 154 people underwent General Information Gathering (GBT) background checks. While 44 people were detained, 150 suspects wanted for various crimes were apprehended.
In the New Year operations, where a total of 55 thousand 225 police personnel were on duty, judicial and administrative fines totaling 225 thousand 964 liras were issued to 88 individuals.
133 VEHICLES BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
During the inspections, 133 vehicles were banned from traffic. A total of 3 million 174 thousand 908 liras in fines were issued to 663 vehicles.
Teams issued fines totaling 65 thousand liras to 17 out of 754 businesses inspected.
Searches conducted on individuals and in vehicles resulted in the seizure of 25 unlicensed pistols, 3 shotguns, 206 bullets, 20 blank-firing pistols, 4 cutting tools, and various amounts of narcotics.
