News from the pro-government side: Trustees on the way for 27 DEM Party mayors
Hürriyet columnist Nedim Şener, known for his proximity to the government, wrote that the ministry is continuing its work to appoint trustees to 27 of the 78 municipalities won by the DEM Party.
The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) won elections in 78 regions in the March 31 Local Elections.
Hürriyet newspaper columnist Nedim Şener, known for his proximity to the government, wrote that trustees will be appointed to 27 of these municipalities.
"THE FIRST STEP TOWARD A CLOSURE CASE AGAINST THE DEM PARTY"
Stating that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Cassation, under the signature of Bekir Şahin, has requested information regarding investigations into the DEM Party's executives, members, and affiliated municipalities, Şener wrote, "In other words, the first step has been taken for a closure case against the PKK/DEM party, which is a continuation of the previously closed parties of the PKK terrorist organization."
Noting that there are ongoing investigations and prosecutions against 27 of the 78 mayors who won the election for the DEM Party, Şener stated, "In short, since there is no final conviction, it is a legal necessity for the Ministry of Interior to appoint trustees according to the Constitution and the Municipal Law, as investigations and trials are ongoing against these 27 PKK/DEM mayors who had the right to enter the election. The ministry's work is also continuing."
Şener continued as follows;
"The PKK/DEM mayors who have ongoing investigations and trials for crimes such as membership in a terrorist organization, aiding and abetting, or making terrorist propaganda before the election are as follows:
