No agreement reached with MESS: Strike decision from Türk Metal Union!
No agreement could be reached between the Türk Metal Union and the employers' union MESS during the group collective bargaining process. Consequently, the Türk Metal Union has decided to go on strike.
Türk Metal Union and the employers' union MESS failed to reach an agreement during the 2023-2025 MESS Group Collective Bargaining Agreement process.
CONTINUING THE STRIKE
As a result of the failure to reach an agreement in the collective bargaining process involving 150 thousand workers, Türk Metal executives announced that they have decided to strike. In the statement made by the union, they sent a message that actions will continue until results are achieved regarding the wages demanded in the contract.
The Türk Metal Union had announced its draft proposal for the 2023-2025 MESS Group Collective Bargaining Agreement in recent days; the union, which demanded a 119.05 percent raise for the first six months, stated that it requested an increase of 5 points in addition to the inflation rate for the second, third, and fourth 6-month periods.
