No contact since November 26: Prof. Dr. Orhan Ekren has gone missing in the UK!

The TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers İzmir Branch has reported that its member, Prof. Dr. Orhan Ekren, has been missing in the UK since November 26. 

In a written statement regarding the matter, the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers İzmir Branch stated the following:

“There has been no contact since November 26, 2024, with Prof. Dr. Orhan Ekren, one of the valued members of the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers İzmir Branch, who serves as a faculty member at Cranfield University. Regarding this distressing situation, we have been informed that law enforcement authorities in the UK are continuing their search efforts without interruption and that the London Consulate is actively involved in the process.

Our Chamber is closely monitoring the process and remains in constant communication with the authorized bodies. We hope that our valued member, Prof. Dr. Orhan Ekren, will be found safe and sound as soon as possible. We would like to thank all official institutions contributing to the search efforts during this process and state that developments will be shared with the public. We extend our patience and support to Prof. Dr. Orhan Ekren’s family, relatives, and all his loved ones."
