Zonguldak authorities are attempting to establish communication with a ship that lost contact after leaving the port where it had taken shelter due to a storm. According to the information received, the Turkish-flagged ship, which was transporting cargo from Russia to the Aliağa Port in İzmir, had taken shelter at the Ereğli Port due to the storm affecting the Black Sea region.

The ship, which moved again after being unable to remain there, lost contact shortly after leaving the inner harbor. Port authorities are continuing their efforts to re-establish communication with the ship named “Kafkametler,” which has 12 Turkish personnel on board.

According to information on Marinetraffic, the last location signal from the 31-year-old, 87.5-meter-long and 12-meter-wide cargo ship Kafkametler was received at 12:16 TSI.
