No Shame: Ship used for drug trafficking from Turkey renamed 'Eren Bülbül'

The ship named Singapore Sprit, which set sail for Latin America after loading flour in Turkey, changed its route to Italy in March 2023. The ship, which crossed the Atlantic Ocean, was stopped by the Portuguese Navy just as it was about to enter the Mediterranean.

The ship was searched by Portuguese security forces for four days, but no hidden compartments were found, and it was released.

However, security sources were certain that there were drugs on board. The drugs on the Singapore Sprit were being brought by former Naval Forces Command personnel S.K. and Y.D., just as they had been on the Ocean Blue and the Plutus.

Remote tracking continued, and when the ship reached the waters off Sicily in the Mediterranean, it dropped 2 tons and 300 kilograms of drugs from its hidden compartment into the sea, despite it not being the pre-arranged location.

HALF OF THE DRUGS ARE MISSING

The drugs, which were dropped outside the previously provided coordinates, were seized by security forces. However, there was another problem for the drug traffickers. More than half of the drugs, which were supposed to be approximately 6 tons, were missing, and these drugs were never found. The Albanian mafia, who ordered the drugs, and their clients, an Italian family, pressured Y.D. and S.T., citizens of the Republic of Turkey who organized the operation.

CHANGED 6 MONTHS LATER

The approximately 4 tons of drugs that went missing on the Singapore Sprit were never found. The name of the Panama-flagged ship was changed six months after it was used in the drug trade. The ship, which had been used under the name Singapore Sprit since 2014, was renamed Eren Bülbül after its name became associated with drug trafficking.

TURNED OUT TO BE A FORMER SOLDIER

According to a report by Can Bursalı from Duvar, S.T., a former member of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) who operated the ship, was arrested and imprisoned in the same operation as Rüstem Çetinkaya, the son of drug baron Urfi Çetinkaya, who passed away last month.

Y.D., who is stated to be the nephew of a figure who served as an AKP Mardin MP in the 24th term, was never caught in Turkey and is believed to be living in Erbil, in northern Iraq.
