Following developments that have caused a stir in İzmir politics, notable claims have emerged within CHP circles. After İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay's decision to leave the CHP, eyes have turned to other mayors serving in the party.

CEMİL TUGAY HAD ANNOUNCED HIS RESIGNATION FROM THE CHP

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay had announced that he was resigning from the party under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the position of CHP Chairman by a court decision.

It was learned that before his resignation decision, Tugay held a meeting with former CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. In his assessment, Tugay stated that the Kılıçdaroğlu administration was trying to reorganize the party and that there was no room left for political activity during this process.

"I WILL JOIN IF A NEW PARTY IS ESTABLISHED" STATEMENT

Cemil Tugay also expressed that he could take part in a new political movement if Özgür Özel were to establish one.

This statement by Tugay brought about discussions regarding potential new departures within the CHP. Assessments have begun to be made in party circles regarding the possibility that political balances in İzmir could change.

BORNOVA, BAYRAKLI, AND TORBALI CLAIMS

According to a report in the Sabah newspaper, Cemil Tugay's departure from the CHP was part of a pre-planned process.

In the report in question, it was suggested that following Tugay, the mayors of Bornova, Bayraklı, and Torbalı could also resign from the CHP. According to the claims, it was stated that the decisions of these individuals to leave could be reflected to the public within a specific timeline.

According to another claim in the report, the goal is to keep the discussions regarding a transition to a new political movement that Özgür Özel might establish on the agenda, along with new resignations that may occur in the coming period.
