Notorious thieves caught after crashing into police vehicle while fleeing

A 3-person theft gang that committed business and license plate thefts in 11 different districts of Istanbul was caught during their final job. A chase began between the police and the gang, who fled after committing a burglary at a workplace in Güngören. The thieves, who were caught after hitting two police vehicles and one civilian car, were found to be responsible for 18 separate incidents.

Police teams arriving at the scene following a report of a burglary at a textile company owned by A.C. on Nadide Street in the Mehmet Nesih Özmen neighborhood of Güngören saw the suspects fleeing the scene.

THEY CRASHED INTO THE POLICE CRUISER

Moments of high tension occurred in Güngören as police pursued the fleeing thieves. As a result of the chase, the thieves crashed into one civilian vehicle and two police cars. Following the pursuit, the thieves identified as Bayram E. (26), Eyüp A. (29), and Bektaş Y. (21) were caught red-handed.

THEY TURNED OUT TO BE NOTORIOUS THIEVES

The 3-person theft gang was handed over to the Public Security Branch Office, Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau for investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that the 3 suspects were notorious thieves who had been sought by the police for days. The investigation determined that the thieves were the perpetrators of a total of 18 separate incidents, including 9 workplace burglaries and 9 license plate thefts, occurring in the districts of Bağcılar, Gaziosmanpaşa, Güngören, Kadıköy, Fatih, Kağıthane, Ümraniye, Esenler, Eyüp, Küçükçekmece, and Sultangazi.

THEY WERE ARRESTED

It was learned that among the suspects determined to be involved in 18 separate incidents, Bayram E. had 62, Eyüp A. had 22, and Bektaş Y. had 15 prior criminal records. Within the scope of the investigation, security camera footage of the gang's thefts also emerged. The 3 suspects, whose procedures were completed at the Public Security Branch, were referred to the court with a request for arrest by the prosecutor's office. The 3 suspects were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
