November 10th ceremony held at Anıtkabir

The founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated with a state ceremony at Anıtkabir on the 85th anniversary of his passing.

The ceremony at Anıtkabir began at 08:50 with the state officials' march along the Lion Road.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan laid a wreath at Atatürk's mausoleum.

Erdoğan, who signed the Anıtkabir Special Book, stated the following:

"Dear Atatürk, on the 85th anniversary of your passing, we once again commemorate you, your comrades-in-arms, our heroic martyrs who fell for our homeland, and our veterans who shed their blood for the same ideal with mercy. As we leave behind the first century with great pride and begin the Second Century, we continue to work with passion today, just as we have for 21 years, to ensure our Republic remains eternal and victorious. We continue to elevate the Republic of Turkey, which is the hope of the oppressed, the voice of the voiceless, and a source of pride for its citizens, in every field. No power will be able to prevent the rise of Turkey, the construction of the Century of Turkey, and our nation's achievement of its centennial goals. May your soul rest in peace."

POST FROM ERDOĞAN

Sharing on his social media account after the ceremony, Erdoğan said:

"I commemorate the Commander-in-Chief of the National Struggle and the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with mercy on the 85th anniversary of his passing."
