NSC meeting concludes: The shackles of terror will be torn off

The National Security Council convened on July 30, 2025, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the meeting, the Council was briefed on the activities carried out with determination, resolve, and success both domestically and abroad against all kinds of threats and dangers directed at our national unity, solidarity, and survival, particularly by the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and DAESH terrorist organizations, as well as recent international developments.

The progress made in line with the 'Terror-free Turkey' goal and future planning were evaluated; it was stated that with the tearing off of the shackles of terror that are intended to be placed on our country's feet, our nation's brotherhood will be further strengthened, and we will advance toward our national goals with faster and more stable steps.

The stage reached in the fight against FETÖ and the courses of action to be followed in the subsequent process were discussed; the unwavering will to completely dismantle the network of betrayal and eliminate its final remnants was emphasized.

Developments in Syria were discussed comprehensively, taking into account the effects of events occurring in our region; it was confirmed that support for the Syrian government's efforts to ensure the country's unity, integrity, and stability will continue.

In this process, it was emphasized that preventing all kinds of divisive, destructive, and separatist activities, as well as attacks and occupations targeting the sovereignty of Syria—which is being dragged into a new spiral of violence and chaos—is a priority.

The political and military consequences of the process that began with Israel's attack on Iran were evaluated; it was pointed out that no opportunity should be given for new tensions and conflicts in the Middle East, which is already experiencing serious vulnerabilities.

A call was made for the international community to take responsibility and act to stop the Israeli administration, which violates international law, targets Iran following Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, continues its genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza, and aims to drag the region into catastrophe.

Concern was expressed regarding the signs of escalation in the Russia-Ukraine War; it was once again stated that Türkiye is ready to take responsibility and provide all kinds of contributions for the establishment of lasting peace. Respectfully submitted for public information.
