Number of detentions rises in IMM operations

A significant development has occurred in the comprehensive corruption investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into CHP-run municipalities. Within the scope of the investigations carried out across four separate files, the number of people detained has risen from 34 to 38, while the number of individuals for whom detention warrants have been issued has increased from 47 to 49.

4 SEPARATE CORRUPTION FILES

The investigation files cover two separate inquiries titled "corruption" and "Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization" targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), as well as allegations of corruption regarding the October 29 expenditures of the Beşiktaş Municipality and irregularities concerning the Büyükçekmece Municipality. In addition to mayors, high-level officials and subsidiary managers were also targeted in the investigations.

Among the 49 people for whom detention warrants were issued as part of the investigation, the following notable names are included. These names are as follows:

INVESTIGATION EXPANDING

As of yesterday, it was announced that 34 people had been detained. In light of the information received today, the number has risen to 38 with the detention of 4 more people. It was also reported that detention warrants have been issued for two new individuals, bringing the total number of people for whom detention warrants have been issued to 49.
