Number of voters at a school in Istanbul surpasses 359 districts

Turkey is heading to the polls today to elect its local administrators.

In the election where 1 million 441 thousand 882 voters are expected to cast their ballots, the number of voters at a school in Avcılar, Istanbul, has drawn attention.

In Avcılar, where 877 ballot boxes have been set up, 302 thousand 280 voters are expected to cast their votes. The highest number of voters in the district is found in the Yeşilkent neighborhood, which receives heavy migration from Anatolia.

According to a report in Birgün; a total of 19 thousand 240 voters will be able to cast their ballots at the 55 ballot boxes set up at Leyla Bayram Primary School in the Yeşilkent neighborhood. A total of 19 thousand 249 voters will be able to cast their ballots at the 55 ballot boxes.

According to TÜİK data, it was stated that the school located in Avcılar is among the top schools in Turkey with the highest number of voters. The number of registered voters at this school is higher than the population of 359 out of the 922 districts in Turkey.
