Numerous detention warrants issued in 4 separate investigations into FETÖ

In accordance with the orders and instructions issued by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of 4 separate investigations into the FETÖ/PDY Armed Terrorist Organization, it has been decided to detain 53 suspects across 12 provinces, with Ankara as the hub.

According to the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for 34 suspects—including 6 officers (3 active, 3 previously dismissed), 8 non-commissioned officers (3 active, 5 previously dismissed), 6 active-duty specialist sergeants, 10 previously expelled military students, and 4 "covert imams"—who were identified as having links and connections to the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization's structure targeting the Land Forces and the Gendarmerie General Command, known as "covert services." These individuals were found to have communicated with so-called civilian imams using payphones and operational lines at public businesses such as buffets, grocery stores, and markets in the provinces where they served, and were named in testimonies as members of the organization.

Furthermore, detention warrants were issued for 10 suspects against whom evidence was obtained—following MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) reviews, technical and physical surveillance—indicating that they transferred funds obtained from abroad to organization members or their relatives who had previously faced legal proceedings, using companies operating abroad to uncover the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization's corporate structure and acts of terrorism financing carried out through said companies.

Including 9 suspects identified as being part of the current structure of the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization based on testimonies from suspects who benefited from effective remorse, analysis of digital materials, technical and physical surveillance, and identifications from statements/photographs taken during the investigation, a total of 53 suspects have been ordered to be detained simultaneously in 12 provinces, with Ankara as the hub, starting today.

Operations to apprehend the suspects and refer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are being carried out by the Ankara Provincial Police Department.
