Objection filed against the detention of Şişli Deputy Mayor Ebru Özdemir
Özdemir's lawyer, Emrah Bağran, submitted a petition to the Istanbul 12th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, objecting to the detention of Şişli Deputy Mayor Ebru Özdemir, who was arrested as part of the "urban consensus" operation targeting the Şişli Municipality.
Şişli Deputy Mayor Ebru Özdemir had been arrested as part of the "urban consensus" investigation launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).
In the public statement issued, it was stated: "With this objection, we have requested the immediate and unconditional release of our client, who was ordered to be detained based on grounds for arrest that lack any concrete evidence; in the event that the duty Criminal Court of First Instance tasked with reviewing our objection holds a contrary opinion, we have requested that our client, Ms. Ebru ÖZDEMİR, be released under judicial control measures."
