Ocakcı Holding boss Sedat Ocakcı, his wife, and 25 others arrested
In İzmir, 27 suspects, including holding owner Sedat Ocakcı (34), his wife Seçilay Ocakcı (30), and retired Brigadier General Mehmet Rıfat Alkan, a deputy general manager at a company within the holding, were arrested after being referred to the courthouse on charges of 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime' and 'qualified fraud' under the guise of 'high profit' promises. The other 5 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
In İzmir, 25 suspects, including holding owner Sedat Ocakcı and his wife Sevilay Ocakcı, who were detained on allegations of defrauding many people with the promise of distributing profit shares through the holding and its subsidiaries they established, have been sent to prison.
The suspects had been referred to the courthouse on charges of "establishing and being a member of a criminal organization" and "qualified fraud." It was learned that in his statement, holding boss Sedat Ocakcı did not accept the accusations, claiming that he did not commit fraud, that they had collected 2 billion 123 million liras with the promise of distributing profit shares through the holding and its subsidiaries, and that 3 billion liras belonged to the holding.
In his statement, Ocakcı claimed that the cold wallet containing digital currency worth 5 billion 123 million liras was taken abroad by his nephew S.H., who worked as a cybersecurity manager within the holding, and stated that he himself was also a victim.
