Official statement on the death of the attacker in Kahramanmaraş: 'Completely baseless'

The DMM has refuted claims that the "perpetrator" of the attack in Kahramanmaraş "did not die."

The statement noted, "The judicial and medical processes regarding the attacker in question have been completed, and the individual was buried on April 16."

The following was recorded in the statement made from the DMM's social media account:

"Claims circulating on some social media channels and digital platforms suggesting that the perpetrator of the tragic incident that took place in Kahramanmaraş did not die are completely baseless and do not reflect the truth.

The judicial and medical processes regarding the attacker in question have been completed, and the individual was buried on April 16. Posts made contrary to this fact, which is established by official records, are deliberate perception operations and black propaganda activities aimed at exploiting social sensitivities, damaging the bond of trust between the state and the nation, and shaking our national unity and integrity."

Stating that, as a requirement of the rule of law, necessary legal processes have been initiated against those responsible for such content that publicly spreads misleading information and threatens social peace, the statement concluded with the following: "It is kindly requested that you remain sensitive to posts containing disinformation aimed at disrupting the peace of our nation and that you only take into account statements made by official authorities."
