Şükriye Aci announced that she was withdrawing her complaint, stating, "Our material and moral damages have been compensated."

However, this decision drew a reaction from Oğuz Murat Aci’s father, Özer Aci. In a statement to journalist Seyhan Avşar, Özer Aci used the following expressions:

"My daughter-in-law will live the rest of her life by selling my son's blood...

I am never dropping my case, and I will not do so... I will continue my legal struggle; I also just heard about this development.

I think she received a large sum of money; I don't think she sold my son's blood cheaply. I have not been alone in this incident from the beginning; I have made my voice heard to the world, and I will continue to do so. I am never, ever dropping my case. Whatever the cost may be!

I don't want even a morsel of that murderer's or his father's food to pass through my throat. I don't need money; I need honesty. Actually, Ms. Şükriye doesn't need money either. Damn that money.
