Oğuzhan Güngör dismissed after criticizing Devlet Bahçeli over Öcalan!

The debate over Öcalan in the MHP has resurfaced with an old issue. Oğuzhan Güngör, the son of former Mersin MP Ali Güngör—who was expelled from the MHP for opposing the Rahşan Amnesty that prevented the execution of terrorist leader Öcalan—has also had his tenure at the MHP terminated.

Oğuzhan Güngör stated that his dismissal from his position as an MHP TBMM Group Advisor was linked to his criticism of the statement made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding the possibility of Öcalan speaking in the TBMM.

Güngör, stating that he was following in his father's footsteps and had been subjected to the same treatment, shared the speech that led to his father's expulsion from the party and used the following expressions:

"I have just been notified that my tenure at the Nationalist Movement Party has been terminated. The method applied to my late father, who was the voice of the Turkish Nation 24 years ago, has now been applied to me.

Those who can commit to granting a 'right to hope' to a baby killer and propose that he speak in our Grand National Assembly, and those who can applaud this, have been disturbed by a Turkish Nationalist saying what needed to be said.

I accept the price of saying that the baby killer cannot defile our Gazi Assembly with honor, as the son of Ali Güngör and as a child of the noble Turkish Nation.

In defiance of those ready to give up everything for position and personal gain, I will continue on my path as I did yesterday, without bowing down and without seeking personal gain. Because this is the foundation of the ideology that inspires me and millions of Turkish Nationalists who love their homeland and state.

Turkish Nationalism has emerged from the bosom of the Turkish Nation and belongs only and solely to it. Idealism (Ülkücülük) is a legacy left to us by the Leader (Başbuğ) and many martyrs. We will continue to defend our Nation and our Ideal for our past and our future until only one of us remains."

THE STATEMENT THAT LED TO GÜNGÖR'S DISMISSAL

Yesterday (October 23), Güngör shared a four-page text on his X account criticizing Bahçeli's statements regarding Öcalan. In his statement, Güngör had included the following expressions:

"My Dear Chairman,

If I were to address you today as Oğuzhan Güngör; I would express my gratitude to you for naming my son 'Türkali', saying 'The name Turk suits the beginning of a Turkish child's name'. I would state that I am grateful for what you did for me and my family after my father's illness. I would express with a great sense of loyalty that the process I spent with you contains precious and very special memories.

The period from my father's expulsion to the meeting you had at the hospital where he spent his final days contains much disloyalty and many grievances.

It is a drama difficult to describe."
