Ömer Çelik's 'Dilruba' reaction to Özgür Özel: 'Complete lack of consciousness'

Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was arrested for her remarks criticizing the access ban on Instagram during the days it was imposed, has been released.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel invited Dilruba, who was released after being held in custody for 18 days, to the opening ceremony of the 93rd İzmir International Fair.

A reaction came from the AKP regarding Dilruba Kayserilioğlu being hosted in the protocol section.

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik stated in a post on his social media account, "It is absolutely unacceptable for a person who has insulted our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Presidential office, and our citizens to be hosted in the protocol section, applauded, and furthermore honored by the CHP Chairman."

Stating that "Insulting the founder of our state, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and our citizens who have supported different political parties is not freedom of expression," Çelik noted the following:

"Provocative statements containing insults and incitement are only the product of primitive hatred and a hate politics that is hostile to democracy. We will continue to fight against these hate speeches decisively on the grounds of democratic politics and law. It is absolutely unacceptable for a person who has insulted our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Presidential office, and our citizens to be hosted in the protocol section, applauded, and furthermore honored by the CHP Chairman. The administrators of a political party cannot be the patrons of hate and insult rhetoric. Giving value to hate speech is a complete lack of consciousness."
