Ömer Faruk Eminağaoğlu: Cancellation of İmamoğlu's diploma means the suspension of the constitution
Legal expert Ömer Faruk Eminağaoğlu made striking statements on his personal X account following the decision regarding the cancellation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's diploma.
Eminağaoğlu argued that this decision is not merely an individual administrative act, but rather a move that will have political consequences.
"When you look at the result, the meaning of this is: to sideline İmamoğlu, to ensure Erdoğan has no rivals, and to effectively carry out a constitutional amendment," the legal expert stated, claiming that this change is being implemented in practice by the university and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In his post, Eminağaoğlu alleged that Erdoğan is attempting to create an election environment without rivals by disregarding the constitutional process, drawing attention to the legal dimensions of the decision with the words, "It even means effectively suspending the provisions of the constitution on this matter!"
