One more detention in threats against Atlas Çağlayan's family! Captured in Şanlıurfa
A new suspect has been detained in connection with threats made against the family of 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan, who was murdered in Güngören, Istanbul. It was reported that the suspect was apprehended in Şanlıurfa. Five people have been arrested as part of the investigation.
In the incident that occurred on January 14 at approximately 20:20 on Emek Street in the Mehmet Nesih Özmen neighborhood of Güngören, an argument broke out between two groups after they left a cafe due to a 'glance' dispute. The argument quickly turned into a fight, and during the knife fight, E.Ç. (15) wounded Atlas Çağlayan (17) with a switchblade.
Despite all interventions at the hospital, the severely wounded Atlas lost his life, and E.Ç. was caught and detained with the weapon used in the crime. E.Ç. was subsequently arrested and sent to a juvenile detention center.
Additionally, 6 suspects were detained on allegations of threatening Atlas Çağlayan's family. While 5 suspects, who were determined to have threatened Atlas Çağlayan's family members via messages sent by phone after the date of the incident, were arrested, it was learned that judicial control measures were applied to 1 suspect.
Within the scope of this investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crimes Bureau, a person named F.K. (31) was detained in Şanlıurfa.
