The Ministry of National Defense announced that Engineering Petty Officer Sergeant First Class Bahadır Rıdvan Talay was martyred as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) previously planted by members of the separatist terrorist organization in the Operation Claw-Lock region.

The statement noted that one soldier was wounded and included the following: "We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation, and wish a speedy recovery to our wounded comrades-in-arms."
