Adil Katılım Bankası, owned by Mustafa Yazıcı, the son of AKP Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı, has received an operating license for digital banking. The decision was published in the Official Gazette last night.

Adil Katılım Bankası had received its establishment permit last year. The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) requires a minimum capital of 1 billion TL for digital banks to obtain a license.

Former Central Bank Governor Durmuş Yılmaz commented on his social media account regarding the decision, which was brought to the agenda by journalist İsmail Saymaz.

Yılmaz used the phrase, "So he had 1 billion liras."
