Operation against child abusers in 8 provinces! 103 suspects apprehended

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that operations were conducted in 8 provinces targeting individuals wanted for "Illegal Betting, Qualified Fraud, and Online Child Sexual Abuse and Harassment." 103 suspects were apprehended in the raids. 

As part of the operations coordinated by the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor and the General Directorate of Security's Cybercrime Combat Department, assets worth 250 million TL were seized. 

Minister Yerlikaya announced the operations via a statement on his social media account. 

The apprehended suspects were wanted for crimes including: bungalow and deposit fraud via social media platforms and phishing sites; engaging in fraudulent activities using investment themes with promises of high returns; managing the financial arm of illegal betting sites for an organized crime group led by G.R.; laundering money obtained from crime by establishing shell companies and converting it into crypto assets; acting as intermediaries for money transfers on illegal betting and gambling sites; and selling images of child abuse via social media platforms.

As a result of the operations, assets worth 250 million TL were seized, including 13 vehicles, 3 villas, 3 companies, 2 hotels belonging to these companies in Istanbul and Aydın, and crypto asset accounts worth 7 million 500 thousand dollars, as well as bank and crypto asset service provider accounts. Additionally, unlicensed pistols, various amounts of foreign currency and TL, and numerous digital materials were seized. Investigations have been launched against the suspects for the crimes of 'Qualified fraud by using information systems as a tool', 'Illegal betting', 'Online child obscenity', 'Laundering of assets derived from crime', and 'Establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes and being a member of the established organization'.
