Operation against the Daltonlar gang! Instructions coming from Italy and Georgia

Simultaneous operations were carried out in four provinces against the Daltonlar gang, which extorted large sums of money by threatening businesspeople in Turkey with death. It was determined that the gang members received their instructions from their leaders in Italy and Georgia.

Ten days ago, two suspects who arrived in the Gürsu district of Bursa from Istanbul by motorcycle entered a coffeehouse where an Azerbaijani businessman was present after conducting reconnaissance in the town center. A helmeted individual fired three shots at the businessman's leg with a pistol he pulled from his jacket pocket and fled the scene. The wounded businessman was taken to the hospital.

TRACKING VIA SECURITY CAMERAS

The Bursa Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams took action after receiving information that the businessman was being threatened by people he did not know. More than 300 security camera recordings were examined to track the two suspects on the motorcycle. The individuals on the motorcycle did not remove their helmets for 12 hours.

The two suspects, 17-year-old M.M.Ç. and 18-year-old B.A., were caught along with the pistol they used after their hiding places were identified once they removed their helmets. Based on the statements of these individuals, the investigation into the gang members was expanded.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS

Under the coordination of the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out in Bursa, Muğla, Istanbul, and Hatay against the Daltonlar gang, which had formed a criminal organization for profit. Special Operations and KOM teams broke down the doors of the houses and warehouses where the gang members were hiding using battering rams.

DETENTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS

During the operation, suspects identified as J.K. (33), Ö.A. (24), T.E. (39), E.A. (27), A.T. (21), T.K. (22), N.K.Y. (19), and R.Ö. (34) were caught and detained. While R.Ö. was released under judicial control conditions, the other suspects were arrested. It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
