Operation against 'green prescription drugs' in Aydın

According to the information obtained, teams from the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted an operation targeting individuals suspected of illegally selling drugs subject to green prescriptions. During the operation, 9 people were detained in recent days, including Op. Dr. R.Ü.G., who works at Nazilli State Hospital. It was learned that between January 1 and December 31, 2023, Dr. R.Ü.G. prescribed 24,086 boxes of green prescription drugs to 13,634 people, and that the approximate pharmacy sales value of these drugs was 12 million 283 thousand liras, while the free market sales price was approximately 84 million 300 thousand liras.

Deepening the investigation, the teams subsequently apprehended D.U., who works as a security guard at Nazilli State Hospital, bringing the number of detainees to 10. The 10 suspects, whose processing at the gendarmerie was completed, were referred to the courthouse in the morning hours.
