In an operation conducted against ISIS in Istanbul, raids were carried out on 68 addresses, and 59 people were taken into custody.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that individuals who were supporters of the ISIS armed terrorist organization and operating in Istanbul were gathering at illegal meetings of the 'İlim ve Hikmet' magazine, which was under the responsibility of Zeynal Payzin. Following the examination of MASAK reports on the suspects, it was determined that they were collecting money from supporters under the guise of fitra and zakat. Furthermore, it was determined that they were seeking to bring members of the ISIS terrorist organization located in camps in conflict zones to Turkey through illegal means and were conducting propaganda activities via social media platforms.
Following technical and physical surveillance, an operation was launched in the morning hours against the suspects whose identities were determined, targeting 68 addresses in Istanbul. While 59 suspects were apprehended in the operations, 1 unlicensed pistol, 1 rifle, numerous digital materials, and organizational documents belonging to the suspects were seized during the searches.
