Operation against 'Turkish Escobar's' gang: 42 suspects captured, including 1 wanted by Interpol
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the details of the Kafes-44 operations on social media.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on X that 42 suspects were captured in operations conducted in 9 provinces, centered in Istanbul, against the armed criminal organization of Ürfi Çetinkaya, known as the 'Turkish Escobar'.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"'KAFES-44' operations were carried out in 9 provinces, centered in Istanbul, against the armed organized crime group led by international drug trafficker Ürfi Çetinkaya (currently in prison), known as the 'TURKISH ESCOBAR'!
As a result of the operations, 42 members of the armed organized crime group were captured, including Rüstem and Hakan Çetinkaya, as well as H. Y. N., who is wanted by the USA via an Interpol Red Notice!"
