Operation at Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş.: 4 people released under judicial control, 20 requested for arrest

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a statement regarding the investigation conducted into Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş., a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).

Operation at Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş.: 4 people released under judicial control, 20 requested for arrest

Of the 24 people referred to the courthouse after being detained in the operation conducted at Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş., 4 were released under judicial control. The remaining 20 people were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest.

In the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office statement, it was stated that within the scope of investigations into the activities of a criminal organization allegedly established under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu, allegations that an "irregular and fictional tender system" was operated through the subsidiary company and that tenders were rigged are being investigated.

It was noted that among the 24 suspects detained in the operation conducted on May 8, 2026, and referred to the courthouse on May 11, it was requested that Alkan Başçiftçi, Ekrem Ofluoğlu, Fatih Yağcı, and Yasin Çağatay Seçkin be released under judicial control conditions.

It was reported that the remaining 20 suspects were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest.

The statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:

"Within the scope of the investigations conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the actions carried out within the activities of the criminal organization established under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu, and regarding the allegations that the organization operated an irregularly fictional tender system through the subsidiary company named Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş. and rigged tenders, of the 24 suspects detained within the scope of the operation carried out on 08.05.2026 and referred to the courthouse on 11.05.2026, it has been requested that suspects Alkan Başçiftçi, Ekrem Ofluoğlu, Fatih Yağcı, and Yasin Çağatay Seçkin be released under judicial control, and the remaining 20 suspects be referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest; this is presented for public information."
