Operation in Adana against those threatening the family in the Atlas Çağlayan murder case
Following the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan in Istanbul, operations against those threatening the grieving family have extended to Adana.
Two individuals alleged to have threatened the family by making provocative posts on social media were detained in Adana. One of the suspects was arrested by the court.
E.Ç. (15), who stabbed and killed Atlas Çağlayan during a fight that broke out over a 'glance' in Istanbul's Güngören district on January 14, was caught and arrested shortly after the incident.
Following the murder, an investigation was launched after threatening messages were sent to Çağlayan's mother and family.
As part of the ongoing investigation, teams from the Adana Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch conducted an operation against those threatening the family and detained 2 suspects identified as having made threatening posts on social media.
After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse; one was arrested, while the other was released under judicial control conditions.
